There are over 1,400,000 searches a month that include the word ‘restaurant’
and while we are all focused on selling our products or services to restaurants and other foodservice establishments were not unlocking the full potential of reaching our target market.
The Future is intelligent search sources
When you think of pictures, you think of Pintrest [www.pintrest.com] However when doing a simple search on “Pinners” and “Pins” on “Catering Equipment” you only find a narrow 26 pinners and 4,000 pins.
When you think of social image sharing, you think of Instagram [www.instagram.com] Same search conducted “Catering Equipment” done on Instagram revealed only 964 picture posting related to the keywords throughout the entire database.
When you think of live news sources, you think of Twitter [www.twitter.com]
When you think of buying, well pretty much anything you think of Amazon [www.amazon.com] There are nearly 6,000 products under when we searched “Catering Equipment.” Amazon is flooded with all sorts of products, thus giving in to their great name “the everything store” but how many of you reading this article actually ever bought commercial food service products through amazon?
We did the same search on Google [www.google.com]and we got a whopping 22,000 keyword Avg. monthly searches (indexing exact match only) with the same keywords. This doesn’t include the stats that BING and other large search engines other consumers are using which im sure increases the overall amount of searches that are happening on the web.
What does all this information mean?
What all this means is that there is a lot of search happening online for food, drink, equipment manufacturers and services that all fall under the supplier side of Hospitality. Resources are being spread across many platforms as people are trying to catch a little piece of the pie however efforts should be more focused through one source.
Check out a publication from Search Engine Land [www.searchengineland.com] – about Organic Search and how search online is changing the way consumers and other people browsing online subconsciously don’t know it but go to their favorite resources to make informed business decisions.
While we span out all our efforts across different platforms, the question is are we in the correct place where our target market is searching for us? Yes, Pintrest has millions of views, same with most other social and search platforms but most of the people we are trying to reach arent where we need them to be at the right time.
Promoting your Brand in a dedicated resource
The above research, and the lack of finding suppliers and products easy and quickly in a dedicated resource is what gave way to the birth of Scabrou. Food service establishments can find companies and (soon) products, organize them to refer back to and never forget a company again.
That’s why we exist — to fill the gap in helping food service establishments find companies and suppliers and finding a solution to helping companies across the globe promote their brand.
There are thousands of manufacturers as well, buried under pages and pages of search results that many of us wont find either not allowing anyone to promote their brand while having the largest possible reach.
